Worker Killed in Accident Outside of Carrollton
Posted on - Thursday, January 22, 2015 under Wrongful DeathEarly this morning, a logging company worker from Ranburne, AL was struck and killed by another vehicle while shoveling dirt and gravel from the intersection of Georgia Highway 5 and Cavender Creek Road in rural Carroll County. The worker was struck by an eighty-three year old Whitesburg woman. The elderly woman was charged by the Georgia State Patrol with driving while unlicensed.
It is not clear from the facts available at this time exactly the cause of the accident. Pedestrian accidents come in all shapes and forms. One thing is certain in these cases, though. A thorough investigation of the accident needs to begin immediately.
Workers have rights when injured on the job. Also, people working along the side of the road have the right to be free from negligent behavior of others operating vehicles and tractor trailer trucks on the roads and highways.
