    Polaris Victory Motorcycle Recalls

Posted on - Monday, January 12, 2015 under Dangerous Drugs & Products

On January 7, 2015, the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (“NHTSA”) issued a recall of certain Victory motorcycles manufactured by Polaris Industries, Inc.  The defect causing the motorcycle recall is the fuel pump, which may have insufficient clearance between the fuel pump body and impeller that can interfere with normal fuel pump operation.  The danger to the motorcycle rider, motorcycle passenger, and other motorists is that the Victory motorcycle could stall increasing the risk of crashing.

The affected Victory motorcycles are certain model years of various Victory motorcycle models.  A list of those models with corresponding model years is below:

    • VICTORY      CROSS COUNTRY                                    2013-2014

As of 9:00EST on January 12, 2015,  www.victorymotorcycles.com makes no mention on the recall on its front page.  This is 5 days after the recall was issued by NHTSA.  Motorcycle manufacturers should care more about their riding consumer, because that motorcycle riding consumer puts their trust in them that the motorcycle they are driving is safe.

Defectiv products injure people every day.  Many times, the defect is not known to the manufacturer until it is too late.  Other times, it is discovered that the manufacturer should have known of the defect prior to sending the product into the marketplace.  In the most egregious circumstances, manufacturers know of the defect and still release it into market.
