Young Man Killed in Possible DUI Head On Collision in Newnan
A head on collision on Summers McKoy Road in Newnan claimed the life of a 25 year old Newnan man named Stephen Joshua Whitten. The cause of the accident is still being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team, but preliminary indications are that the driver of a pickup truck was drunk and crossed the center line causing the head on car crash and wrongful death. Charges are pending against the driver of the pickup. Judging by the comments below the Newnan Times-Herald article, the DUI victim was well-liked by friends and co-workers. Please pray for the victim’s families. The driver of the pickup truck was taken by helicopter to Atlanta and a passenger in the pickup truck was treated at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
