Judge Urges Broad Settlement from Vaginal Mesh Manufacturers

Posted on - Wednesday, February 11, 2015 under Dangerous Drugs & Products

A federal judge overseeing litigation involving Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon Transvaginal Mesh encouraged a global settlement between 7 transvaginal mesh manufacturers and the thousands of plaintiffs asserting claims for their defective medical devices. According to fiercemedicaldevices.com, the Judge said during a hearing that he could not “imagine a corporation facing potentially billions of dollars in verdicts wouldn’t find it advisable to try to achieve a settlement for a much lesser sum” and pointed to other “rather large” verdicts from similar cases. The verdicts he was referring to were a $18.5 million and $26.7 million verdicts for women suffering injuries from transvaginal mesh.

The Georgia Defective Medical Device Lawyers of The Parian Law Firm, LLC are investigating injuries from defective vaginal mesh manufactured by the following companies.
