Hyundai Recalls Over 250,000 Elantra Models

Posted on - Sunday, March 8, 2015 under Dangerous Drugs & Products

On Friday, February 27, 2015, NHTSA announced that Hyundai was recalling over 250,000 of their popular Elantra models.  A sensor in the vehicles could malfunction causing a loss of power steering capability. As many of us know from older vehicles, operating a vehicle with little to no power steering is difficult.  Due to the increased risk of an accident, the Hyundai Elantra vehicles have been recalled.

The specific cars being recalled are 2008-2010 Elantra vehicles manufactured June 1, 2008, to April 30, 2010, and 2009-2010 Elantra Touring vehicles manufactured November 1, 2008, to April 30, 2010.  On the door frame of your driver’s side door is usually a sticker that specifies the date your vehicle was manufactured.  If your car fits between the dates above, contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-671-3059. Hyundai’s number for this recall is 127.
