Television producers discovered Middle Georgia’s “beauty queen,” and seized upon her family’s television talents.  People all over America were tuning in to see what Mama June, Sugar Bear, Honey Boo Boo, Pumpkin, Chubbs, and Chickadee were buying at their local Wal-Mart.  I’m sure television pioneers could see that one coming.  A sad fact is an episode of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” beat out the 2012 Republican National Convention by almost 20 million viewers!  Oh…..America.

Now, however, TLC is learning a hard lesson about dealing with that “beauty queen” and her family.  If you have not seen the latest news about the “Honey Boo Boo” family, you have been in a cave or in la-la land.  Mama June was seen (by paparazzi, of course) with a convicted aggravated child molester.  Making matters even more dramatic is the fact that the aggravated child molester she was seen with was convicted of molesting Mama June’s very own daughter!!

Many people pay attention to the sex offender registry.  Georgia’s sex offender registry can be found HERE.  I have been called hundreds of times by friends, fellow church members, clients, and even random people about the laws governing where a convicted sex offender can live and work.  It seems there is a lot of misinformation out there about these offenders and where they can work and reside.

Georgia legislators have enacted laws related to these restrictions several times over the years; therefore, the living and work restrictions placed on a sex offender differ based upon the date of the sexual crime (and subsequent conviction) which required them to register.  The law governing registered sex offenders convicted on or after July 1, 2008.

Remember that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.  That means there can be NO doubt (not a single ounce) as to the accused’s guilt.  Although The Parian Law Firm, LLC specializes in representing individuals suffering severe injuries from another’s negligent behavior, we do consult and represent individuals accused of crimes.  If you or someone you care about have been accused of a crime, do not hesitate to CONTACT US.  Your rights (including your right to freedom) could be in severe jeopardy.
