Georgia Xarelto Lawyers Update | New Study Shows Doubled Risk of GI Bleeds

More Scientific Ammunition for Xarelto® Lawsuits

More than 4 million people were prescribed Xarelto® (also known as rivarobaxin) in 2014.  Xarelto® is a prescription blood thinner marketed as superior to the historically prescribed Coumadin® (also known as warfarin).

Xarelto®, the most successful of the new line of blood thinners (or anti-coagulants) hit the US market in 2011 to treat hip and knee implant patients.  It has since been approved for the treatment of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.

Xarelto® Doubles Risk of GI Bleeds?

A study was recently published by the British Medical Journal suggesting that Xarelto® may double the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding in patients.

More than 40,000 Americans were part of this study into Xarelto®.

The purpose of the study was to determine if there was a measurable difference in occurrences of gastrointestinal bleeding for patients on Xarelto® vs. Coumadin®.

After reviewing the measurable data obtained, the doctors concluded that it cannot be ruled out there is “a more than twofold higher risk of bleeding with Xarelto® compared with Coumadin®.”

    Xarelto® Lawsuit Filings on Rise

Xarelto® Lawyers from around America are hearing from people suffering dangerous bleeds while taking the prescription drug.  Lawsuits are being filed on behalf of these people and their families.  The number of Xarelto® Lawsuits continue to rise.

Atlanta, Georgia Xarelto® Lawyer Cade Parian has seen firsthand the toll that Xarelto® and other new age blood thinners have taken on families.  He says, “I am not surprised at all about the findings of this latest study. I have been to funeral homes and living rooms of families all over America that have suffered at the hands of this drug.”

If you or a loved one suffered a health scare while on Xarelto, you should contact one of the Xarelto® Lawyersfighting on the front lines against this drug.
